POSITION SUMMARY :
The Assistant Superintendent provides on-site administrative management through planning, coordination, and supervision of craft employees and trade contractors to ensure the project is constructed in a safe and organized manner.
This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
- Ensure an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Assist day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Inspection of contractor or (sub)contract operations to ensure compliance with contract
- Assist in development and maintenance of site logistics plan, in coordination with Superintendent
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
- Assist in development in job-specific plans (SWPPP, Hazcom, Safety, etc.)
- Assist with the updating and management of the project schedule
- Create daily reports and report quantities and time for Manhattan craft workers
- Direct Field Engineers and / or survey team
- Assist Superintendent as necessary
JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES :
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good math / accounting skills
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Functions effectively as part of a team

- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience
