Square Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a full-time experienced Cafe & Catering Manager .
Square Cafe is a colorful mod breakfast / lunch stop in the East Liberty neighborhood serving a local, seasonal American menu with vegetarian choices.
We are dedicated to local talent as well as to the community, and we partner with many local nonprofits on fundraisers, special events, and promotions.
Our cafe also serves as a gallery showcasing local artists. In addition, we provide catering services for parties big or small, so think of us for your next special event!
The #1 thing we want this role to initially accomplish is to be present for events, communicate with customers, and assist with marketing.
The ideal candidate has a guest-first mentality and a love for hospitality. You show initiative and leadership while at the same time being a great team player and leading by example.

Compensation :
- $20-24 hourly + commission
- $600-1000 average weekly take-home range

Language requirements :
English
Experience required :
- 2+ years of previous event management experience in a high-volume cafe or casual restaurant
- 2+ years of previous food & beverage experience in a high-volume cafe or casual restaurant
- P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
- Staff training and motivation
- Food and Beverage safety knowledge (Serve Safe certification)
- Managing events
- Staff scheduling (monitor daily to ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain customer service levels)
- Managing 5-10 people
