PACE Intern Special Education Teachers make an immediate impact on students' lives!
You can work as a PACE Special Education Teacher Intern while completing the Intern program! The intern Teacher program offers an alternative route if you already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to teach as soon as possible.
We offer Lead Teachers to help support you!
As an Intern teacher, you are employed as the teacher of record in a classroom while you complete your program and earn a teacher’s salary.
- Immediate teaching salary plus a variety of financial resources, including grants (Federal TEACH, Golden State Teacher)
- Cohort of fellow intern teachers to support you!
Teachers are creative people who want to make a positive impact in the lives of special education students. The PACE K-12 school is a high support program that is assisted by multiple resource specialists (SLPs, OTs, BCBAs) and direct experienced paraprofessional aides covering the majority of students.

- Management Requirements : PACE will also support you in the supervision of the assigned classroom Instructional Aides.
Physical Requirements
The Special Education Teacher must be able to comply and adhere to the following physical requirements.
- Pushing, Pulling and Lifting The individual must be able to lift and or push at least 45lbs. with assistance
- Twisting and Turning Due to the high activity of the program this position requires the individual to be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.
- Student Behavior Management The individual must be able to properly demonstrate and implement behavior management techniques.
This training is provided by PACE.
Office Work This position requires one to be able to conduct a variety of office work, including typing on a computer.
