Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator

Responsibilities
Aurora Specialty Pharmacy provides high touch prescription dispensing and clinical support services for patients. We work closely with Pre-service team, responsible for completing prior authorizations and financial assistance as well as clinical care team consisting of physicians, physician assistant, nurses and support staff.
We manage patients by assessing clinical data and by optimizing therapy to ensure appropriateness and safety of medication use through evidence-based medicine, and to promote and monitor adherence.
We help patients navigate the complexities of therapies and clinical information in oncology, autoimmune disease, fertility, immunology, and neurology among other disease conditions.
You would join a talented team of 7 pharmacist and 8 technicians at our location in Menomonee Falls all of whom are supportive and eager to help you learn and navigate the complex as well as rewarding career in specialty pharmacy realm.
We have team members who have transitioned from both within Advocate Aurora system as wells as external organizations and have vast experience in hospital and retail pharmacy settings.
Our operating hours are 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 1 pm on Saturday. We are closed on 6 major holidays unless there is need evident to service our patients
In this role you may also be responsible for the following
Applies advanced knowledge of medication management to the prevention and treatment of illness and delivery of evidence-based pharmaceutical care.
Provides expertise leadership, and education that directly or indirectly influences optimal medication management for patients, staff, providers, and the community.
Serves as a resource to pharmacy caregivers and other health care professionals to provide expert consultation regarding medications.
Collaborates with department leaders to design, develop, and evaluate clinical systems to support practice area.
Educates and trains pharmacy department caregivers, including pharmacists, residents, interns, and students.
Effectively supports department and hospital efforts to operate in compliance with applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, such as the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Effectively staffs in practice area when called upon.
Recommends and implements strategies that minimize cost and optimize medication use outcomes.
Plans, educates, and executes performance improvement initiatives to achieve the organization's clinical quality goals.
Facilitates studies or clinical trials in area of expertise.
Scheduled Hours
Our operating hours are 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 1 pm on Saturday.
Licenses & Certifications
Pharmacist license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Degrees
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 3 years of experience in pharmacy in area of specialty, or completion of a residency program accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
