Description

Job Responsibilities

The incumbent will work closely with the Research Program Manager, providing financial and administrative support for a large portfolio of grants at the Weissman Lab.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to extracting and connecting data from multiple sources and formats, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial projections and reports, and addressing information or services requests from internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires proficiency in integrating technological tools into financial and management operations. The position involves ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures and handling confidential data.

The successful candidate should possess multitasking abilities, robust analytical and problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Business Administration, and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Proficiency in conducting financial and operational analysis within a large portfolio of grants.

Ability to effectively transform and integrate financial and management data using technology tools.

Organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).

Experience in using technology applications like SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or AI applications.

Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Preferred

Experience in project management or coordination using applications such as Wrike, MS Project, and Asana.

Proficiency in relational databases and SQL programming.

Experience in an academic research setting.

Experience with university financial systems.

3-5 years experience in finance and technology
