The Hoofstock Animal Care Specialist will support DZCA's mission by providing animal care to include the safe handling, feeding, training, enrichment and husbandry of animals in the Hoofstock Department.
The Hoofstock area is mostly comprised of Asian and African hoofstock and a variety of birds. The position requires good knowledge of the natural history of these or similar species, excellent husbandry skills, active participation in training and enrichment, involvement in public demonstrations and the ability to work in a strong, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
The selected individual will be trained in all areas in the Hoofstock section and will eventually focus primarily on two of the barns.
