Registered Nurse Emergency Room Full Time Night RBH

Up to $25,000 Sign-On bonus based on experience

Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies.

Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education : Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education : Bachelors Degree

Minimum Experience : None

Preferred Experience : Two years in acute care preferred

Required Certifications / Licensure : Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

ADULT ED :

x Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

x AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period

x AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.

NOTE : PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.

x TNCC within 1 year of date of hire or transfer date into unit

x Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained with 60 days of hire date or transfer to position

x ENPC is preferred

PEDIATRIC ED :

x Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

x AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period

x TNCC within 1 year of date of hire or transfer date into unit

x Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained with 60 days of hire date or transfer to position

x ENPC within 18 months of hire or transfer into role.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.

The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.

Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.

Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.

Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Education :

Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.

Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience :

Preferred : Recent acute care experience.

Certifications :

Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;

CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
