About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee our Health Care Center and ensure the highest quality of care.

About the Role :

As the Director of Nursing, you will be the cornerstone of our Health Care Center, providing leadership, clinical oversight, and strategic direction to our interdisciplinary team.

Your role will be pivotal in promoting person-centered care and fostering a supportive and empowered work environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Supervision :

• Provide direction and oversight to the Health Care Center, ensuring alignment with GHBC policies and person-centered care philosophy.
• Mentor and support staff, fostering a collaborative and empowered workforce.

Regulatory Compliance :

• Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
• Ensure the Health Care Center consistently meets and exceeds regulatory requirements.

Quality Care & Standards :

• Oversee the delivery of high-quality health services and maintain clinical standards for all residents.
• Continuously solicit feedback from residents and staff to enhance service quality.

Financial Management :

• Manage department budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure census targets and payor mix are achieved.
• Assist with budget preparation and report financial variances to the administrator.

Staff Development & Training :

• Conduct regular training and coaching sessions for staff to enhance skills and effectiveness.
• Address employee concerns, foster positive morale, and ensure timely completion of evaluations and annual requirements.

Qualifications :

• Graduate of an accredited BSN or School of Nursing; MSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Background in Gerontological nursing education.
• Minimum of five years of experience in management and long-term care.
• Active membership in professional organizations is a plus.
• Excellent mental health, diplomacy, and stress management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, and their families.
