About The Position
Job Title : Certified Surgical Technician Job Specialty : Surgery Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 6 : 45 AM - 7 : 15 PM (12-hour shift) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Not specified Certifications : CST Must-Have : - Experience scrubbing total joint, spine, bariatric, and robotic cases for general surgery, urology, and gynecology Job Description : - Assist in preparing operating rooms for surgery - Ensure the necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and available - Work closely with surgical teams to provide patient care - Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room - Participate in surgical procedures by handing instruments and supplies to surgeons - Provide support during urgent and emergent surgical situations - Follow hospital protocols and safety procedures - Exhibit a positive, dependable, and flexible attitude - Adhere to the dress code of hospital-provided scrubs, excluding ear buds, crocs, false eyelashes, acrylic nails, and long-sleeved shirts under scrub tops - Utilize EPIC electronic medical records systems The role does not require weekend hours or floating to other units but does require availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
The position involves working in a unit with 7 operating rooms, maintaining a 1 : 1 patient ratio. Elective, urgent, and emergent surgical cases are handled within this unit.
Preferred experience includes scrubbing vitrectomies.
