Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities Assists with complying with PHMSA Underground Gas Storage regulations.
Duties include leading the maintaining of the TaskOP data management system, preparing for / participating / leading in PHMSA inspections, monitoring SIMP progress, maintaining procedures.
Manages gas storage projects including preparing / performing business cases, investment authorization requests, project schedules, contractor work scopes, bid evaluations, material specifications, material orders, invoice approvals, contractor field management, and project cost control.
Maintains accurate gas storage asset information including geological data, gas well data, operating / maintenance data and reservoir performance data.
Manages gas storage construction & maintenance activities associated with gas storage wells including drilling, down-hole inspections, well repairs, re-lining, fracking, acidizing, and plugging.
Monitors gas storage operational performance by performing / overseeing : stabilized reservoir pressure tests, gas storage inventory analysis studies, reservoir simulation models, gas storage performance analysis, and gas well flow testing.
Develops operational strategies, budget recommendations, and business plans in support of short and long-term business objectives.
Supports business planning by developing / proposing capital investment plans, maintenance programs, and budgets.
Ensures regulatory compliance by : obtaining well drilling / work-over permits, filing regulatory reports, executing compliance programs, and interfacing with regulatory agencies regulating gas well and storage operations.
Ensures corporate safety compliance and safe working practices by performing / developing jobsite safety tailgates, safety audits, safety investigations, and safety procedures.
Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in geology, petroleum engineering, or a related field.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Professional engineer or geology certification(s), gas reservoir modeling experience, and LMKR GeoGraphix software application experience are preferred.
Regulatory compliance experience is preferred
WORK CONDITIONS
Combination of office environment and field work environment. Field working environment includes gas well sites with exposure to : heavy equipment, hazardous gas environments, pressurized equipment, overhead equipment, noise, temperature extremes (hot & cold), adverse weather and dust / debris / chemicals associated with well operations.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS
Office work involves primarily sitting with some standing and walking. Field work involves driving, standing, and walking at storage field and well sites with uneven terrain, wet / slippery conditions, tripping hazards, and equipment obstacles.
