Summary :

In this role, you will analyze and summarize proposed and final regulations related to hospital payment policy. Working with internal subject matter experts and outside stakeholders, you will draft comment letters to Federal agencies, primarily to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Health and Human Services (HHS), with a focus on how data and analytics can drive quality improvement within the acute-care setting.

From our Washington, DC office, you will assist with Vizient advocacy efforts with Federal policymakers.

Responsibilities :

Track, analyze, and summarize health care policy and regulatory developments, particularly those posted to the Federal Register, that are of interest to Vizient and its provider customers (e.

g., inpatient and outpatient hospital quality programs, Medicare payment policy, particularly related to Part A and alternative payment models, and health information technology).

Lead drafting of written comments to federal agencies in response to proposed regulations, incorporating feedback from multiple business units within Vizient, with a focus on clinical data as provided by Vizient’s Center for Advanced Analytics.

Identify opportunities to support Vizient’s members through communication and collaboration with government agencies (e.

g., Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) and other external stakeholders.

Create materials, both simple and complex, to communicate regulatory developments to Vizient employees and members.

Engage, as needed, with key administration officials and policymakers to advance regulatory policy priorities.

Identify federal and national leadership and engagement opportunities for Vizient internal experts, including Technical Expert Panels, Advisory Boards, among others.

Identify opportunities for Vizient staff to present and promote work such as conferences, public meetings and webinars.

Qualifications :

Relevant degree preferred (e.g., law, public policy, public health, health policy). Advanced degree desired. (e.g., Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Public Policy (MPP)).

7 or more years of relevant work experience required, including at least 2 years of health policy analysis.

Experience in reviewing, analyzing and summarizing health care regulations or legislation, particularly as related to Medicare.

Demonstrated ability to develop comments in response to proposed rules.

Excellent analytical and technical skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Proven ability to work with and maintain company confidential and proprietary information.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills including grammatical / technical writing skills and specific experience communicating with government officials at either the federal or state level.

Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and build strong, collaborative relationships.

Demonstrate cross-functional expertise and thrive in a highly complex environment.

Willingness to travel.

Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, working remotely on Fridays and as needed, but primarily on-site, in our Washington, D.C. office.

$117,600.00 - $175,050.00
