We are currently working with one of our top healthcare clients on a Temporary Payroll Lead position. The Temporary Payroll Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s payroll functions, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
This role involves processing payroll, maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Payroll Lead will also be tasked with improving payroll processes and systems. This is a remote position; however, candidates must be located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia in order to qualify.
Temporary Payroll Lead Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, including salary computation, deductions, bonuses and taxes
- Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state and local regulations. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data. Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information
- Generate and submit payroll reports to management and government agencies as required. Provide analysis and insights on payroll data
- Oversee the payroll system, ensuring it is up-to-date and functioning properly. Work with IT and external vendors to implement and maintain payroll software
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees. Provide support and guidance on payroll matters
- Identify and implement improvements to the payroll process to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Supervise and mentor payroll staff, providing guidance and support. Ensure team members are trained and knowledgeable on payroll processes
Temporary Payroll Lead Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 7+ years of experience in payroll and benefits
- Proficiency in the payroll software Lawson / Infor
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and complex formulas
- Experience with Microsoft Access for managing and analyzing payroll data
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, payroll and benefit policies and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal wage and hour laws, principles and practices and garnishments
- Ability to identify and mitigate operational risks through effective controls
