The Senior Telecom Network Engineer provides expert support to a Rapid Response Team responsible for quick responses and fixes for urgent issues, as identified.

Primary ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and design of cable infrastructure systems that support the customer’s strategic and operationalConduct comprehensive site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, ensuring project scopes are well-defined and met.

Maintain and manage inside plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber optics, and all associated elements.

Develop and oversee the implementation of EIPs for the installation of cable racks, wiring, and the necessary testing during installation.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure that cable infrastructure designs meet all technical and regulatory requirements.

Provide expert support to Rapid Response Team, supporting urgent, critical VIP / Government Officer (GO) requirementsManage network connectivity for all VIP / GO locations within JSP sitesManage network connectivity and transport across all classification levelsManage and perform installation, maintenance, and removal of all equipment in accordance with JSP-approved standards and architecture drawings, to include encryption devices, VoIP devices, and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipmentManage and perform life-cycle maintenance for all transport devices and supporting equipment.

• Manage and perform patching and cabling for JSP devices in VIP / GO locationsSupport successful development and on-time delivery of customer deliverablesCommunicate with senior customer leadership;
• serve as POC for contractRegularly report to Leidos leadership on contract activitiesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 12+ years of RCDD experience;

additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeExperience as senior or lead RCDD in planning, and designing cable infrastructure that supports the DoD environmentRegistered Communications Distribution Designer certificationActive TS / SCI clearanceExperience conducting site visits to evaluate telecommunications and technology systems, equipment, componentsStrong teamworkskills that enable good working relationships with co-workers and customersExperience managing the development of multiple technical projectsExperience maintaining Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated elements.

Experience developing EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.

Must be current on codes and technologies appropriate to the telecommunications and building technologies design / construction industryOutstanding brownfield infrastructure design skills, with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.

Pay Range : Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
