Technical Supervisor / Lead Technician

We are a busy 6 - 7 doctor, AAHA Accredited hospital that values each team member's individual skill and personality.

The Technician Team Leader trains, supervises and assists technicians to plan, coordinate and perform a variety of duties concerned with animal health and client education and to promote VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital.

This position also encompasses all the duties of a veterinary technician. The Technician Supervisor or Team Leader is under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager with support and input from the Medical Director.

Education and Experience :

High School Diploma

Certified or Registered Technician status or equivalent practice experience of at least 5 years experience.

Prior supervisory experience.

The successful candidate will have skills and abilities as follows :

• Strong medical skills.
• Customer Service.
• Human Resources knowledge.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience with scheduling staff
• Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts.
• Ability to direct workflow on the floor.
• Coach and mentor staff.
• Assist with interviews.
• Ensure the policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.
