We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Cranston, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education and the support they need to succeed.
This position involves collaborating with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents and other educators.
- Provide direct instruction to students, using a variety of teaching strategies and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional plans as needed to address individual learning goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance, as required by state and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and other school-related meetings as necessary.
- Stay informed about best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
- Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Required Licensure and Certifications :
Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
