Assistant Controller - Honolulu, Oahu Location : Honolulu, HI Salary : $90,000 Annually Please note : Only in-state applicants will be considered at this time.

Position Summary / Primary Purpose :

  • Under the supervision of the Corporate Controller, this role plays a critical role in managing the financial operations, overseeing accounting processes, analyzing financial reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance.
  • This is a full-time, in-office position.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis, provide insights into financial performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise on-site and remote accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering teamwork.
  • Develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures, providing training as needed.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support decision-making and budgeting.
  • Monitor cash flow, identify risks, and implement controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in contract and / or construction accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and contract / construction industry accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing accounting staff.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay : Starting at $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
