Assistant Controller - Honolulu, Oahu Location : Honolulu, HI Salary : $90,000 Annually Please note : Only in-state applicants will be considered at this time.

Position Summary / Primary Purpose :
- Under the supervision of the Corporate Controller, this role plays a critical role in managing the financial operations, overseeing accounting processes, analyzing financial reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance.
- This is a full-time, in-office position.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis, provide insights into financial performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Supervise on-site and remote accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering teamwork.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures, providing training as needed.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support decision-making and budgeting.
- Monitor cash flow, identify risks, and implement controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads.
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in contract and / or construction accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and contract / construction industry accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing accounting staff.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
