Job Description

The Alternatives Manager Research Senior Associate specializes in alternative investments, with a focus on private markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment research, transaction management, and relationship building within the private markets landscape.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our investment strategies by conducting in-depth due diligence on managers and investment opportunities.

What you’ll do :

  • Act as a key member of the deal teams, responsible for sourcing potential investment opportunities in the private markets space
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify attractive investment prospects and evaluate their alignment with the firm's investment objectives
  • Participate in meetings with investment managers to gather additional information and insights
  • Prepare detailed and insightful reports on managers, investment opportunities, and market developments to support investment decision-making
  • Draft investment memorandums for fund investments and co-investments, highlighting key investment thesis, risks, and opportunities
  • Proactively develop new research processes and methodologies to enhance the firm's investment decision-making capabilities
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging investment opportunities through continuous market research and analysis

Qualifications

  • BA / BS degree (finance or related degree preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 4-5 years of experience in manager research, investment due diligence, or private markets investing preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and investment analysis
  • Candidate must be collaborative, a team player, self-driven and possess strong integrity and professionalism

Additional Information

  • This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Chicago office

The pay range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 / year. However, base pay will be determined on an individual basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefit offerings, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.

Wilshire is an SEC registered investment adviser and required to track certain political contributions under Rule 206(4)-5.
