Planned Parenthood of Greater New York's HIV, STD, HCV Prevention Program is grant funded by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute (AI).
We are seeking someone with dynamic, engaging facilitation skills to assist us in maintaining retention of workshop participants.
Other activities include :
- Develop, enhance and present comprehensive HIV / STD / HCV programs and workshops through the implementation of proven high impact prevention strategies and innovative interventions for HIV positive people and communities who engage in high-risk behaviors with a focus on individuals of color.
- Increase HIV / STD / HCV testing and screening services so that an increased number of persons know their HIV / STD / HCV status.
- Identify those living with HIV / STD's / HCV and ensure access to early, high quality medical care and prevention services, in conjunction with the Manager of HIV Prevention Programs and will work with individuals who test negative on preventing HIV / STD / HCV infection.
- Work with Manager of HIV Prevention Programs to ensure individuals are engaged in prevention services including PrEP, PEP, Case Management, HIV Primary Care, other Prevention Services, as needed
Must Have :
- High school diploma (degree preferred)
- Minimum one (1) year experience presenting, facilitating and running workshops
- Ability to communicate well with diverse groups of people
- A valid driver's license to drive / operate the mobile testing unit, a reliable vehicle to reach sites for workshops and events, and minimum one (1) year driving experience throughout Nassau County and surrounding areas
- Knowledge of HIV, STDs and HCV and prevention strategies
- Computer proficiency; data entry experience
- An interest in expanding your analysis and knowledge about the role that racial inequity plays in our society, and a commitment to building and / or deepening your commitment to racial equity in your work
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
