Registered Nurse - OR - Per Diem

Responsibilities

Join the Temecula Valley Day Surgery Team! About Us : Temecula Valley Day Surgery is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Our center is designed for patients having elective, one-day surgery with no hospital stay. The purpose is to provide a patient-focused approach to outpatients requiring operative, Endoscopy, or Pain service, and to achieve desired quality patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner.

Job Summary : We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for our OR. This individual will be who is responsible for the nursing process in the Perioperative care of the patient and performs duties normally dedicated to the circulating nurse.

The RN must comply with AAAHC, CMS and CDC / APIC, AORN, State, and facility standards and guidelines. Duties include but no limited to :

• Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.
• Prepares the operating room according to requirements of patient / procedure to be performed.
• Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues growth and development.
• Functions as a role model for current and new staff.
• Demonstrates a professional manner.
• Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, center / service safely, and specific job-related hazards.
• Follows the center exposure control plans / blood borne and airborne pathogens.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience / Training / Experience :

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in the field of nursing preferred.
• Minimum of One (1) year of multispecialty operating room experience and a demonstration of knowledge of OR theory and practice required.

Three (3) years of experience preferred.

ASC experience preferred.

Certifications / Licenses :

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required.
• BLS and ACLS. PALS certifications required. PALS required within 30 days from date of hire.
• CNOR preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities :

• Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all accreditation preparation and compliance with all standards for AAAHC, CMS and CDC / APIC, and State guidelines.
• Demonstrates compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
• Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
• Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
• Must have experience is standard office equipment. e. computers, copy machines, and telephones.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
