Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a Senior Structural Blast Engineer for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the U.
S. Air Force facility near Ogden, Utah. This onsite role offers a W-2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Targeted W-2 pay rate range : $80.00-85.00 / hour.
Position Summary :
The Structural Blast Engineer will be part of a team providing launch system design, construction, and integration for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system.
This is U.S. Air Force program is designed to modernize the nation’s ground element of the nuclear deterrent program. This role will support the development of structural and blast engineering designs by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations.
Full-time presence on project is required.
Responsibilities :
- Perform formal structural calculations dealing with primarily blast loads.
- Development of concrete and steel structural and foundational design and drawings.
- Review customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.
- Develop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurement.
- Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- 9+ years of experience in the development of structural and blast engineering designs.
- Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Structural or related Engineering
- Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Possess active security clearance
- Experience designing seismic bracing and supports
- Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact
