Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the compounding, dispensing, ordering, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Manage inventory control procedures and ensure adequate levels of drugs.
- Direct the work of technical staff, providing guidance and support.
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems promoting desirable patient outcomes through the use of appropriate, safe, and cost-effective drug therapies.
- Monitor and provide drug therapies for patients of all age groups.
- Provide staff development and education to colleagues, nursing staff, and medical personnel.
- Coordinate Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities.
- Participate in Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship initiatives.
- Review clinical activities, contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department.
- Assist in training and orienting new employees and pharmacy technicians.
- Assist with patient charging and inventory control activities under the supervision of the Director.
- Contribute to Quality Assurance and Drug Use Evaluation activities.
- Perform other duties related to the practice of pharmacy.
Qualifications :
- Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy Program (Doctor of Pharmacy preferred).
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and adaptability to a stressful environment.
- Active Pharmacist licensure in the State of West Virginia.
