Job Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all areas of our property.
This includes performing routine cleaning tasks, handling special projects, and ensuring that all maintenance and cleanliness standards are met.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cleaning Duties :
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, and furniture.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Maintenance Tasks :
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Assist with minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs or unclogging sinks.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Special Projects :
- Perform seasonal cleaning tasks, such as window washing or carpet cleaning.
- Assist with moving furniture or equipment when necessary.
- Safety and Compliance :
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment safely and effectively.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to security and confidentiality.
- Customer Service :
- Respond to cleaning and maintenance requests from staff and tenants in a timely manner.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with tenants, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills :
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Other Requirements :
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions :
- Environment : Work is performed primarily indoors but may include some outdoor tasks.
- Physical Demands : The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
