In this role, the successful candidate should have experience with pediatric ICU or a year of Emergency experience and is licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
The successful candidate should have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and be competent in cardiac rhythm interpretation, pulse oximetry and hemodynamic measurements and interpretation.
The successful candidate should have intermediate computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
- The Emergency Room Registered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care, policy and procedure.
- The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients and assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities in the Emergency room.
- The Emergency Room Registered Nurse participates in shared decision making, unit committee and quality improvement activities and requires minimal supervision.
- The primary role of the Emergency Room Registered Nurse is to care for all types and age groups of emergency and minor care patients including those waiting for admission.
- The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for the care of admitted patients and for completion of inpatient orders of patients waiting for admission and maintains the continuity of care by referral of patients to the Follow Up Nurse, Case Manager or appropriate community agencies.
