How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Global Operations finance team, reporting to the Senior Operations Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and metrics followed by analysis of financial performance to annual targets for two manufacturing facilities.

Other key responsibilities include month end close activities, accounts payable support, standard cost setting, and physical inventories.

This role is highly cross functional with exposure to finance, operations, services, tax and controllership.

What do we want to know about you? Do you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing company
  • Oracle system experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel abilities
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work at all levels and partner with Management team
  • A self-driven and motivated mindset

What will your typical day look like?

  • Perform the month end close procedures for Wabtec Global Service Centers and report timely results
  • Maintain the general ledger, coordinate daily accounting activities, perform quarter end analysis and reporting
  • Support accounts payable process to ensure accurate liabilities
  • Comply with Wabtec Accounting and Internal Control Policies. Responsible for meeting all internal guidelines and enable the business unit to consistently meet the Wabtec financial close requirements
  • Develop annual and continuous forecasting of financial metrics
  • Partner closely with service center plant managers to perform detailed financial analysis, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
  • Analyze income statement and balance sheet data versus budgets for reasonableness and review variances by considering sources, current business activities and historical trends
  • Assist with setting annual standard costs and physical inventory
  • Lead and execute projects, such as, but not limited to partnering with IT to develop standard reports to meet business policies, assist with audit testing, quarterly and year-end financial package requirements, and monthly reporting for key performance drivers
  • Ad hoc analysis as requested by Sr. Operations Finance Manager and Service Center Leaders

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
