The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a qualified candidate in a fast-paced environment and rapidly growing company. The General Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities include overseeing month-end and year-end close, preparation and review of financial statements and analyses, facilitating financial audits and tax return preparation, and overseeing daily activities of the accounting team.

The Accounting Manager must also champion process improvements, be a transformative leader, collaborate with cross functional teams and contribute to building team culture.

What You’ll Do

• Leads and review the work of staff. Exercises consistent responsibility for management and supervisory functions, including but not limited to interviewing, training, managing team hours and workload, evaluating and managing employee performance, and handling employee complaints / issues.
• Mentors and develops accounting team members for continuous professional development and growth.
• Establishes and maintains accounting policies and processes.
• Collaborates with leaders under the Corporate Controller team to build and maintain internal controls.
• Oversees month-end closing process and ensures compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Provides accurate and timely financial reporting and analyses to assist leadership in making educated financial / economic decisions.
• Works with senior leadership, general managers and department heads on interpreting and understanding monthly, quarterly and annual financial KPIs and operational / financial metrics.
• Interacts with internal and external parties to provide accurate financial information and to resolve conflicts.
• Works with confidential data, which if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effect.
• Consistently exercises discretion and judgment as related to the performance of the duties and responsibilities.
• Works collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
• Oversees financial and Federal Acquisition Regulation Audits
• Ensure tax compliance for state US income tax, sales & use tax and Canadian GST / HST
• Provides excellent client service and communicates with internal and external clients to ensure needs are met.
• Develops and implements accounting best practices in processes, policies and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and excellent client experience.
• All other duties as assigned.

What We Expect from You

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 7+ years of related work experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant required.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Experience with MS Dynamics365 preferred.
• Strong analytical skillset and aptitude to solve complex problems.
• Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential matters related to daily business operations.
• Must have effective leadership and mentoring skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal / written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meets deadlines by setting priorities.
• Ability to operate in a fast paced, and rapidly growing organization.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

Additional Opportunity Details :

Compensation Range is Generally + / - 15% of Position Mid-Point of $121,000*

The salary displayed represents the middle of a range. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
