The Coordinator for Disability Services oversees all functions of the Office for Disability Services (ODS) serving students at The Ohio State University at Marion.
These functions include student intake and verification of eligibility, developing and processing accommodation requests, communicating with faculty regarding approved accommodations, advocating for students utilizing services through ODS, staying current on various forms of alternative media and adaptive and assistive technology, create, oversee, and manage all ODS testing schedules, supervising graduate student assistant, establish yearly budget for ODS, and tracks enrollment within ODS to identify trends and changes in needs.
Minimum Education Required
Master's Level Degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience required.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications : Master's degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, familiarity and understanding of mental health diagnosis and documentation, psycho-educational assessments and academic accommodations, and knowledge of assistive technology.
Desired Qualifications : Experience counseling individuals with disabilities, working with students in higher education, and broad knowledge of disabilities.
A familiarity with laws governing the rights of students with disabilities in higher education.
