The Opportunity

The Memphis Grizzlies is looking to hire a Senior Manager of Performance Science to support the Team's Front Office. This position will be located on site in Memphis, Tennessee.

In This Role You Will

  • Support the Team's Performance Science initiative, integrating biomechanical evaluation and feedback into the player development process, in an effort to improve on-court results.
  • Actively collaborate with the Team's Front Office, Coaching Staff and Sports Medicine groups in furtherance of the Performance Science initiative.
  • Research and advise with respect to the investment in technology and construction of potential new physical spaces in a manner designed to optimize the application of biomechanics to player development.
  • Assist with biomechanical data collection, management, and analysis for the purpose of enhancing player performance and evaluation, including overseeing the development and maintenance of databases, models and reports based on biomechanical data.
  • Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time.
  • Other related duties as required.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Kinesiology, Sport Science, or a related quantitative field;
  • 2 years of experience in the position offered, collegiate athletics coach, or related position;
  • 1 year of experience with : performing biomechanical evaluations of athletes in the sports industry;
  • Able to operate advanced performance science systems including Motion Analysis and OptiTrack;
  • Experience in player development coaching at the collegiate level or higher;
  • Able to analyze biomechanical data and player performance data to prepare reports and make recommendations to enhance player performance;
  • Able to process and analyze data in Visual 3D;
  • Able to program in Python and R to create pipelines for data processing and statistical analysis.
