- Summary of Duties a head cashier should work towards learning the Sales Manager’s job as well as his / her own.
- Scope of Duties Perform the duties of a Head Cashier for Superior. Specifically, oversees the day-
to-day operation of the department.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Monitoring customer service levels at front end
- Maintain front-end in an orderly and professional fashion, no eating or breaks around front area of store
- Post produce walk sheet
- Post daily work schedule
- Post daily break schedule
- Porter Assignments
- Post Sweep sheet / bathroom sheet
- Assign Cashier to designated register
- Implement daily breaks / lunches
- Monitors dress code for all employees
- Review bag levels at registers
- Monitors time clock / Kronos card. Record time when clock is not functioning
- Responsible for utility employees throughout the day.
Utility Clerks (Junior Clerk-Porters-parking lot) job duties- Go backs, price checking, floor conditions, enforcing company policy in regards to sweep sheet & bathroom cleaning, monitoring shopping carts
- Reviewing outside display areas and availability of shopping carts
- Item log for customer’s items left behind
- Customer Service refunds
Acceptable refunds / exchanges- Products with receipts.
Not acceptable- Refunds / Exchanges without receipts. (No real world items, High cost items are probable theft items. Notify Mgr.)
- Monitor 14 sticker inventory
- Till / Registers need to be checked for working conditions
- 18 pick-ups must be verified at registers
- 13 change at register
- Enforcing that 18 and 13 be performed on a timely manner
- Knowledge of in store intercom codes
- Detail knowledge of all cashier and manager functions on register
- Location of current DMV book (all states)
- Maintain register stocked with operating supplies such as register tape and ribbon
- Ability to replace telecheck ribbons
- Issue time-off request form
- Cashier audits
- Issuance of rain checks
- Performing weekly produce tests and recording final week in company portal
- Review all 90 calls- inquire why?
- Assign greeters to entrance / exit doors (if applicable)
- Ensure that all employees you are responsible for take their meal and breaks
- Under NO circumstance may minors work with any type of Machinery. Minors must comply with all stipulations indicated on their work permit.
