Company Overview :

This company is based in Loveland Colorado, is a 40-year-old device manufacturer that engineers, manufactures, sells and services portable veterinary diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

A growing company of 25 people, this company is comprised of an international team of employees and sales partners. As the only US-based manufacturer of veterinary-only ultrasound equipment, this company is entering the next stage of growth.

As such, this company is searching for an experienced controller / accounting manager to strengthen and oversee company financial activities.

Position Overview :

As a Senior Accountant, primary responsibilities will be overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions of the company. This includes managing P&L, balance sheet, budgeting, reporting, financial modeling, and risk management.

Working closely with senior management of the company, this experienced Accounting professional will ensure that timely accounting reports are delivered to support the operation and future plans of the business.

Work Location : Loveland, CO

Workdays : Monday through Friday

Reports to : Board of Managers

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including A / R, A / P, payroll, inventory, GL entries, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial statements / reports and present to the Board of Managers
  • Supervise and support accounting staff of two and cross-train accounting positions
  • Ensure accurate coding, tax calculations, and correct posting period
  • Create financial models to support current and future company plans and projects
  • Review financial statements and ledgers and work with the accounting staff to clear up discrepancies
  • Analyze transactional processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy improvements
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing process
  • Oversee daily cash balances and cash flows
  • Work closely with the Board of Managers to implement growth and develop strategies for a variety of scenarios
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
  • Oversee risk management, insurance policies, and fraud mitigation to safeguard the business assets
  • Manage debt and equity agreements, investments, and other treasury activities
  • Manage external audits as necessary
  • Manage legal and regulatory compliance related to finance and tax regulations
  • Assess, implement, and improve policies, procedures, controls, methodologies, and reporting
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, accounting and expense policy documentation
  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
  • Work with other departments to create budgets and forecasts
  • Work on ad-hoc finance projects as needed
  • Be the face of the company for financial matters

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ Years of Accounting Experience
  • 2+ Years of Controller or CFO Experience
  • Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience
  • ERP Software Experience (IQMS Preferred)
  • CPA or CMA
  • ERP System Migration Experience
  • Project Management Experience

Required Skills :

  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Applications, especially Excel
  • Experience and proficiency in financial forecasting and modelling
  • Strong Attention to Detail and Accuracy
  • Excellent Analytical Ability
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
