About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12-hour days, 0600-1830, 3 days per week.
Weekday and weekend call required. Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience License : Active Nurse License or compact nurse license Certifications : BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have : Previous experience assisting anesthesia.
Willingness to be trained by the facility to assist anesthesia as part of the assignment. Job Description : Perform general nursing duties, including circulating all open chest cases and assisting with lines (swan, a-line, etc.
TEE, labs, and anesthesia.- Utilize equipment such as EPIC charting, I-Stat, TEE, and warming / cooling units.- Participate in call rotation;
approximately a weekday or night call once every 7-10 days, with full weekend call every 5-6 weeks. Two RNs are required for all chest cases, with single circulating for vascular cases.
- May be required to float to the core side, including general, ortho / neuro units, if needed.- Work within a department housing 4 ORs + hybrid CVOR and 13 CORE ORs.
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity, ranging from 1-2 nurses.- Adhere to dress code standards : must cover cloth cap and bouffant, no rings, no fake nails or nail polish, and no large earrings with necklaces tucked away.
- Participate in a specific training and orientation program including Jumpstart and basic nursing / EPIC, comprising 2-3 days in the OR and an additional 1-2 days before working independently.
