OT or COTA) Occupational Therapist With Benefits Full Time / Part Time (K-8)- Kensington, CT Area
Key Responsibilities :
For OT :
- Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop personalized therapy plans
- Provide direct therapy to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support system for students
- Monitor student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to meet goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expert insights to guide student success
For COTA :
- Implement therapy sessions as directed by the OT, focusing on specific goals outlined in the treatment plan
- Work with students individually or in small groups to develop their motor skills and independence
- Document and report on student progress, providing regular updates to the OT
- Assist in preparing and adapting materials for therapy sessions to meet the needs of each student
- Collaborate closely with the OT, teachers, and families to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care
Qualifications :
- For OT : Licensed Occupational Therapist
- For COTA : Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience in a school setting is preferred for both roles
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Committed to helping students achieve their full potential in their daily and academic lives
