Job Summary
The Director of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery will lead the bank's efforts to ensure operational resilience and preparedness in the face of adverse conditions.
This role involves developing and maintaining policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, assessing risks and vulnerabilities, and managing a team of BC / DR professionals.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of BC / DR principles and technologies, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior executives to develop and refine BC / DR strategies.
- Responsible for the overall direction and success of the BC / DR program
o Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the BC / DR program
o Define and track performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the BC / DR program.
- Lead and mentor a team of BC / DR professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of services and professional development.
- Evaluate the bank's current resiliency and readiness posture, identify risks and develop remediation strategies.
- Improve and implement policies, procedures, and plans to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
o Ensure the bank's resiliency plans are efficient and effective.
o Stay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative practices.
Lead retail banking centers and other departments with :
o Assessment of potential business impact (Business Impact Analysis)
o Identification of critical, time-sensitive functions
o Design, development, and documentation of work area (business function) business continuity plans.
- Develop, manage, and document business continuity plan and pandemic testing.
- Provide training / awareness for employees.
- Serve as incident commander, supporting management and functional areas when a business disruption occurs.
- Ensure that all aspects of the Disaster Recovery / Business Resumption Plan and Pandemic Plan adhere to regulatory requirements.

This position supervises fewer than five employees.

The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any of the following : telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer, and related printers.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is strongly preferred.
- 12 - 15 years of experience, with a significant portion in leadership roles within technology, business continuity, or disaster recovery;
financial services experience is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of BC / DR best practices and FFIEC guidance.
- General knowledge of IT systems and applications supporting failover and failback operations.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Professional certification is required (CBCP, MBCP, or other relevant certifications)
