Director of Biomedical Engineering
Location : Las Vegas, NV
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Director of Biomedical Engineering to join our partner hospital in Las Vegas, NV.
This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the hospital's Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program, ensuring the safe and effective use of medical equipment and technology.
Responsibilities :
- Program Leadership : Lead and manage the HTM program, including the implementation and ongoing development of policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Strategic Planning : Collaborate with senior leadership to define the strategic direction of the HTM program, setting short and long-term goals to support the organization's mission and vision.
- Technology Assessment and Planning : Evaluate new medical technologies and equipment, conducting thorough assessments to determine their suitability and impact on patient care.
- Medical Device Integration : Oversee the safe and effective integration of medical devices into the hospital's clinical environment, ensuring proper installation, training, and ongoing maintenance.
- Operational Excellence : Optimize the day-to-day operations of the HTM department, including equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration, as well as inventory management and procurement.
- Risk Management : Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential hazards associated with medical technology and equipment.
- Security : Ensure the security and integrity of medical devices and data, protecting patient information and safeguarding against cyber threats.
- Vendor & Contract Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manage contracts for equipment and services.
- Financial Oversight : Oversee the HTM budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and responsible resource allocation.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the HTM program adheres to all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, including those set forth by CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, and state, and local agencies.
- Performance Monitoring : Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the HTM program and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of biomedical engineers and technicians. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience :
- Proven experience in healthcare technology management, including leadership and management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical equipment management, including knowledge of various manufacturers, models, modalities, and capital planning.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for medical devices.
