Principle Responsibilities
Assist therapists.Provide hands on assistance as directed by therapy provider in therapy sessions.Provides safe patient equipment, ensures personal safety, and safe work environment.
Recognize emergency medical situations, symptoms, and take appropriate actions.Uses equipment and proper body mechanics to reduce injury to self and patients.
Uses communication techniques that reflect attention to age, cultural and population specific needs of the patient and family.
Support department functions.Thoroughly documents relevant cleaning, maintenance, O2 tank status, and crash cart checks.
Activities may include patient transport to and from department, transfers, escorting patient to treatment room or gym when appropriate, supervise patients on equipment, and perform modality set-up based on training.
Complete equipment cleaning, stocking, and ordering as appropriate.Participates in program development, professional practice, and quality teams as requested.
Promotes rehabilitation services.
Assist front desk.May include answering phones, scheduling, copying, filing, calling patients, outcomes management, and medical records functions as training security allows.
May assists with the orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.May ensures appropriate patient education information is supplied and orders as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age with education and / or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0 to 2 years in a health care setting preferred
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource within 60 Days
