We are seeking applicants to work in our School-Age afterschool program. The Madison Y afterschool services children from Madison, Chatham, and Florham Park in enriching afterschool programs focusing on education and growth.
- Work Schedule : Monday through Friday, 2 : 30pm-6 : 00pm.
- Full day opportunities available during school closures.
School-age counselors will :
- Be a minimum of 16 years old.
- Supervise children in grades K-5.
- Assist with homework.
- Lead active games and engaging electives such as STEM experiments and arts and crafts.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 16 years old.
- Must be able to work well with young children, parents, and staff and display strong customer service skills.
- Possess at hire and maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications, or will train.
Working Conditions :
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time, while maintaining alertness.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible.
- Must be able to lift and / or assist up to 50lbs in weight.
- Ability to withstand a wide range of outside temperatures - heat, cold, wind, rain.
- Speak clearly and effectively.
