About The Position
Job Title : CT and Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty : Radiology Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Variable (Rotated Shifts) Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours Per Week Experience : 2+ Years of Clinic Experience License : State Licensure Required Certifications : - ARRT (R) Certification - CT Certification Preferred Must-Have : - Graduate of an accredited radiography program Job Description : Provides healthcare services by applying X-ray energy and computer processing techniques for diagnostics or treatment.
- Performs radiographic imaging and computed tomography to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation.- Exercises professional judgment and maintains demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
- Provides patient care, recognizing conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.- Works under supervision to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across various age groups.
- Correlates patient clinical history with procedures, ensuring documentation for practitioner use.- Prepares the patient for procedures, offering instructions to achieve desired results and minimize anxiety.
- Operates and selects appropriate programs for radiographic and CT equipment.- Positions patients for optimal demonstration of anatomic areas, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff.- Ensures informed consent and assists during interventional procedures.
- Practices aseptic and surgical techniques, performs venipunctures when required.- Prepares, identifies, and administers contrast media / medications per policy.
- Evaluates images for quality, adjusts parameters, and ensures proper recording.- Maintains archival storage of digitized data as needed.
- Initiates basic life support actions if necessary and provides patient education.- Maintains patient records confidentially and complies with established policies.
- Responsible for maintaining assigned areas and reporting equipment malfunctions.- Provides practical instruction to students or other healthcare professionals.
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement plans, assuming specific control duties.- Upholds patient relations skills and pursues continuing education.
- Must have a strong ability for independent judgment, particularly in trauma or emergency situations.- Interacts frequently with patients, families, and medical personnel with high interpersonal skills.
Physical and Sensory Requirements : Frequent standing, walking, and physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, and kneeling, requiring dexterity.- Work conditions include exposure to infectious diseases and require adherence to safety protocols.
Schedule Details : Rotated shifts : 7 : 00-15 : 30, 8 : 00-16 : 30, or 13 : 00-21 : 00.- Call duty includes backup and night call on rotation.
