Overview Purpose Statement / Position Summary : The Department Operations & Research Coordinator is committed to supporting the activities associated with providing EMR access to all appropriate customers and clinical services.

The coordinator oversees all research activities and communication with those requestors, including confirmation of IRB approval.

The coordinator is also the advocate to promote EMR access to payors. As part of Department Operations, this position is also responsible for creating and maintaining Proxy Lists in Cerner, customer service, and audits for Release of Information.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience : 5+ years’ experience in Health Information Management, preferably at an academic or research hospital.

Education / Licensure / Certification : High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required OR in active pursuit of either credential with an expected completion one (1) year from start date.

Pay Scale Information $39,728.00-$68,650.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
