Job Summary
The Payroll Accountant, Manager will lead and oversee the overall administration of the department in the best interest of Emigrant Bank.
The Manager will oversee the systems and processes to ensure the integrity, compliance and accuracy of companywide payroll.
This position will oversee / handle Multi-State payroll processing in a fast-paced growth environment. This role will support and manage the payroll team as they perform payroll duties in the most efficient manner.
This position will perform payroll accounting duties, resolve tax issues, serve as a key contact in payroll audits and serve as the project manager when needed.
This Manager must be well versed in state wage and hour payroll tax requirements. Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties : Manage payroll administration through two direct reports including salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes, third party payments, time and attendance and expense reportsOversee accuracy of all payroll transactions bi-weekly, quarterly, and annuallyAttend weekly payroll, HR, and employment meetingsEnsure compliance with relevant laws and bank and other internal policiesSupervise, coach, and evaluate payroll team membersManage payroll tax in a multi-state environmentPerform payroll accounting duties and collaborate with appropriate accounting teamsMaintain accurate records and prepare reportsDevelop department goals, objectives, and systemsEnsures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour lawsServe as key contact and process payroll accounting duties including various journal entries, account reconciliation and provide general ledger supportManage payroll tax policies, procedures, duties, issues and recordkeepingEnsure compliance with internal policies and controls, as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidanceMaintain knowledge and responsibility of industry trends, and compliance with federal, state, and local legislationAssist benefits with managing the K, pension data, and reportsAssist with the Human Resources annual budgetSet up and close entities in ADP with city, state and federal agencies as neededOversee annual year end payroll, processing and reconciliationLead payroll projects and conversions.
