Why SENTINEL? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and highly complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire Minuteman III ICBM weapon system deployed over tens of thousands of square miles across five states.
Without a doubt, Sentinel is one of the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer.
It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging ICBM facilities to develop and deploy a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile.
The effort will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead.
Sentinel is now beyond Milestone B, well on its way to Milestone C. The program enjoys broad, bi-partisan support at the national level.
It is a long-term project the weapon system will deploy over a nine-year period beginning in approximately 2026, and remain operational through at least 2075.

Tell me about this job. BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to implement and manage Sentinel’s Directorate-wide Digital Ecosystem strategy.
Candidate will manage a portfolio of Digital Ecosystem System Engineering (DESE), Data Architecture and Analytics, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Capability Development, Software Development, Digital Transformation and Process Development teams.
Candidate will integrate and execute Sentinel’s digital strategy baseline and will provide digital ecosystem solutions to the government SPO.

ASFS
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
degree in computer science, software, engineering, or related field.
At least 7 years of progressive technical experience.
Familiarity with program management principles, including cost, schedule, and performance assessment.
Experience in lean management, CMMI and root cause analysis.
Experience with ICBM Weapon Systems Engineering.
Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work.
Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, briefing and providing reports to executive-level leader.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
degree in computer science, software, engineering, or related technical field.
At least 2 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with software development, integration and deployment in a DevSecOps and / or Cloud environment.
- Familiarity with systems engineering topics, including architecture development and requirements management, or willingness to learn Model Based Systems Engineering.
Familiarity with Data Analytics, Data Science, or Data Engineering, or willingness to learn Enterprise-wide integration of analytical toolsets spanning business, technical, modeling / simulation, test, and sustainment focus-areas.
Familiarity with software development and application integration, including knowledge of and practical experience implementing Agile methodologies.
Experience with DoD acquisition programs.
Experience leading successful teams in high tempo environment.
Experience leading and / or facilitating multi-stakeholder groups.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range : $100530 - $170910

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
