The Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware is seeking a pediatric oncology advanced practice nurse or physician assistant with special interest in the outpatient management of children with malignant solid tumors to join the team!
This is a full-time opportunity to join a thriving oncology division in Delaware's only free-standing children's hospital.
Primary responsibilities will include the outpatient clinical management of children with solid tumors such as osteosarcoma, neuroblastoma, and Wilm's tumor.
The pediatric oncology APRN / PA in this position will also work collaboratively with the leukemia team to provide cross-coverage when needed and will also serve as the front-line clinician for the inpatient pediatric oncology patient population when needed.
Highlights of the pediatric hematology / oncology / transplant / cellular therapy program include a supportive and collaborative group of 12 pediatric hematologists / oncologists and 8 nurse practitioners along with dedicated oncology nurses, psychologists, child life specialists, nutritionists, physical therapists, nurse navigators, and social workers.
The program is a member of the Children's Oncology Group and one of the top enrollers of patients in the NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
Essential duties and responsibilities will include :
Primary outpatient management of children with solid tumors with the ability to cross-cover other oncology populations when needed Provide continuity of care specific to chemotherapy / immunotherapy, disease evaluation, and supportive care management throughout the patient's treatment course in conjunction with a physician Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety in ordering chemotherapy and supportive care medications using a computerized order entry system.
Requirements :
- Master's / Doctorate as applicable in correlation with Nursing or Physician Assistant program
- Pediatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Acute Care Certified
- Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Pediatric Oncology experience highly preferred.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
