Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is a community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Chicagoland's diverse immigrant and refugee communities.
Established in 1981, CMAA is a cornerstone of the "Asia on Argyle" corridor of the Uptown Neighborhood of Chicago with a satellite office in Elgin, IL, providing programs to serve our community across generations.
We offer after-school, summer camp, and mentoring programs for young people. For adults, we provide case management and social services, education including English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, job preparation and placement services, and immigration and citizenship case assistance.
We connect older adults to in-home care support and community enrichment through our Golden Age Club. Finally, we support entrepreneurs and small businesses as the only AAPI-led Small Business Development Center in Illinois.
Job Description
CMAA is looking for a mission-driven and detail-oriented Assistant Manager of Elderly Care, who reports directly to the Manager of Elderly Care.
The main responsibility of the Assistant Manager is to support the Manager with day-to-day duties and responsibilities. The Assistant Manager of Elderly Care needs to fulfill most, if not all, of the Manager's functions when the Manager is not present.
This individual will assist in supervising the department's daily activities and ensure that staff provide services to home care aids followed by clients.
The Assistant Manager's objectives include ensuring policies are followed and putting processes in place for a growing team to operate more effectively.
The Assistant Manager of Elderly Care also manages employees and workflow to help ensure they can work effectively and efficiently to maintain a target level of productivity.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Manager of Elderly Care, the Assistant Manager of Elderly Care will :
- Oversee and supervise home care aide supervisors
- Oversee and maintain Electronic Visit Verification software tracking home care aide service hours
- Maintain home care aide and client records in Electronic Visit Verification software
- Oversee and maintain master schedules for home care aides to maximize serviceable hours to clients
- Communicate with external parties from Care Coordination Units or Managed Care Organizations
- Assist with application and renewal of programmatic licensure from the Illinois Department on Aging
- Review and track new state, county, and municipal policy affecting the In-Home Services program
- Attend quarterly and annual external meetings from the Illinois Department on Aging and other stakeholders
- Assist the department Director on strategic planning and budgetary matters for the program
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Illinois Department on Aging Home Care Supervisor Certification
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. This could require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
