General Summary : Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is seeking a qualified GPS Technician-Coordinator for our Grading Division for full-time employment.

The GPS Technician-Coordinator is responsible for the GPS department to maximize use of GPS system to increase field efficiencies and productions.

Western Engineering is a local contractor that is based in Loomis and performs work in the greater Sacramento area and surrounding foothills.

Western Engineering is a reputable company that has been rooted in the industry for over 40 years. Essential Functions : Communicates and collaborates with superintendents and foreman in the use of GPS equipment.

Responsible for tracking of equipment, topography and utility mapping, training, and model building. Education Requirements : High School Diploma, field experience in construction drafting or surveying preferred.

Any combination of equivalent skills / experience is acceptable. Experience Requirements : 3 or more years’ experience with GPS system, topography mapping, computerized modeling software is preferred.

Familiarity with earthmoving operations, surveying, and staking. Exposure to construction safety programs and Cal OSHA requirements.

Desired Knowledge and / or Skills : Knowledge of GPS System, AutoCAD, and Excel. Knowledge of Agtek Earthwork 3D, Agtek Materials 2000 or similar software applications preferred.

A general knowledge of the construction industry, plan reading, and the roles of the various parties involved in the construction process.

The ability to interact well with customers and other employees is critical to the success of this position. License / Certification : Valid Driver’s License Benefits Health, vision, Life insurance, and dental insurance plans offered.

Matching 401K contributions. Paid vacation time off. Pay is $40-$50 per hour based on experience. About the Company Western Engineering Contractors provide initial mass grading, utility installation, finish paving, and complete pre-construction services.

Nearly every aspect of these services is completed in-house, utilizing Western employees and equipment. This full-service full-commitment approach, and over 40 years of experience, is what has established Western as the Sitework Specialist in the greater Sacramento area.

We often have Section 3 work. Preference will be given to Section 3 residents for hiring. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
