Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist, Mobile

In the Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist role, you will be an important part of our commitment to serving others by providing occupational therapy services, program participant evaluations, and supervising Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants.
- Provide quality service delivery through the evaluation and testing of program participants and the development of effective treatment plans for each participant
- Administer innovative treatment programs to participants and communicate treatment needs to appropriate staff, providing re-evaluation and programmatic changes as necessary
- Set up appropriate home exercise programs for participants promptly and perform home evaluations as needed
- Maintain timely and appropriate program participant documentation including a report of services
- Complete weekly schedule request to meet Occupational Therapy goals of staff / program participants and submit it to supervisor
- Serve on rehabilitation treatment team(s)
- Complete all mandatory training offered by CCS and attend training / seminars annually to update knowledge and skills
- Collaborate with physicians, staff, professionals / paraprofessionals, consultants, families, and community resources as needed to ensure the effectiveness of occupational therapy program
- Provide / Participate in in-service programs in areas of expertise for OT and all of CCS staff as requested
- Participate in the maintenance of targeted departmental budget and monitoring of equipment
- Adhere to Service Monitoring System (SMS) standards for department, accreditation and licensure standards, and ethics of confidentiality
- Direct and supervise assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training; decide on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- One year of human services experience
- One year of experience in neuro-rehabilitation preferred
- Must be licensed OT / L in state and a member in good standing with AOTA
- Heavy work : Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
- A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance
