AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect team partners with customers to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures and solutions.
AWS Solutions Architects collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
The Role
You will be supporting Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). You will start by understanding your customer’s strategic growth initiatives and new business ventures and guide your customers on how to achieve these goals by defining the right service architecture.
You will lead technical efforts to ensure the deployment meets your customers’ requirements.
You will partner with Sales, Professional Services, AWS Partners, and other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of our services.
You will have the opportunity to help define and execute a strategy to build deep adoption and broad use of AWS within your enterprise customers, and you will do this by mobilizing resources within AWS and working with our extensive partner network.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of large scale distributed computing solutions, and experience leading deep architecture discussions, and hands on experience.
Travel is national, and is expected to be 15-20%.
Key job responsibilities
- In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
- As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
- Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the AWS Solutions Architect community.
- Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blog posts.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.
- Be open to domestic (US) travel up to 25%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical degree; Computer Science or Math degree desired · 3+ years of experience in technology / software sales, pre-sales, or consulting · One or more AWS certifications, e.
g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate · Experience in presales and working with enterprise customers · Experience designing / operating solutions built on AWS
