Contract Specialist - Tactical Solutions (TS)

As a Contract Specialist within the Tactical Solutions (TS) contracts department, you will play a vital role in contract negotiation and administration across various programs.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, you’ll be an individual contributor, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies.

Here are the key responsibilities :

Responsibilities :

Contract Lifecycle Management :

Handle contract negotiation and administration throughout the entire contract life cycle, from pre-proposal to contract closeout.

Collaborate cross-functionally with other employees, program personnel, and key customers.

Risk Assessment and Compliance :

Review contracts and related documents to assess risk to the company.Recommend mitigation approaches to address identified risks.

Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).

Effective Communication :

Maintain positive working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.

Interact appropriately with colleagues to foster a productive work environment.

On-Site Work Engagement :

Regularly engage in on-site work, spending at least three days per week at the primary work location.Be prepared for travel and local commutes between company campuses and other non-company locations.

Working Conditions :

Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS / BA) in a related field.
  • 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with government and commercial contracts (domestic and international desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and DFARS, particularly in areas related to intellectual property, government property, proposal formation, and negotiations.
  • Experience with cost reimbursable, award fee, and incentive fee contracts.
  • Proficiency in handling Firm Fixed Price contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to manage complex issues simultaneously.
  • Experience in negotiation strategies and conflict resolution.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) and major Aerospace primes.
