JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director, Performance Engineering reports to the VP Performance Optimization. The individual will lead and supervise the Performance Engineering team members to deliver best in class performance modeling and advanced data analysis on utility scale PV and BESS Systems.
Role will provide process, tools, and training to enable the team to deliver services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure consistency across Performance Engineers in service delivery and customer experience.
- Management of all Performance Engineers
- Develop staffing strategies to efficiently deliver services.
- Ensure on-time and accurate reporting per contracts.
- Manage contractual Performance Guarantees (Performance, Availability, DC Health)
- Provide analysis on plant performance vs model.
- Provide action plans and recommendations to maximize performance of PV and BESS power plants.
- Delivery great Customer Experience through expert analysis and communication.
- Continuously improve content and methods to meet customer needs and improve efficiency.
- Support sales though negotiations of performance guarantee and service agreement scope requirements.
- Manage onboarding of new contracts to deliver services on project commencement
- Estimated travel expected 10%

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics. Master’s or PhD is preferable.
- 10+ years of experience in performance engineering in the energy industry.
- 5+ years leading a technical or engineering team.
- Experience leading people in a matrix organization.
- Advanced understanding of PV technology, solar power, power generation, data acquisition
- Proficient with PVsyst, Plant Predict, or other PV performance products.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, MATLAB, Python Programming (preferred)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure analytics projects are meeting the needs of the business users.
- Demonstrates ability to turn data into critical information to make sound business decisions.
