What you will do : As an Environmental Scientist Professional, you'll play a vital role in shaping a sustainable future.
Here's a glimpse of what you'll be doing :
- Assisting with asbestos and regulated material assessments, overseeing asbestos abatement, and conducting air monitoring for demolition or renovation projects.
- Supporting environmental monitoring initiatives, conducting limited site investigations, and contributing to brownfields redevelopment efforts.
- Providing construction oversight during the implementation of response action plans.
- Engaging in fieldwork, accounting for 30% to 70% of your time, depending on the season.
- Crafting technical reports and contributing to proposal development and budgeting.
- Expect some overnight travel, primarily within Minnesota and the surrounding upper Midwest states.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing environmental data to drive informed decisions.
What you will bring : We're looking for someone with the following qualifications and attributes :
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry, biology, natural resources, soil science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Relevant credentials for asbestos inspection and supervision, along with proficiency in on-site PLM air sample analysis.
- 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in asbestos inspection, abatement oversight, and air monitoring.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
- Possession of a 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as MPCA, MDA, MDH, and MnDOT, with experience outside of Minnesota considered a plus.
- Additional certifications like Lead Risk Assessor Credentials or experience in lead paint sampling are beneficial.
- Interest or existing certification in CHMM, CSP, or PG licenses is desirable.
- Safety-conscious, organized, and eager to collaborate and grow.
- Strong verbal communication, technical writing, critical thinking, attention to detail, and customer service skills are a must.
