This position is based in Washington, DC and candidates must either have US citizenship, permanent residency, or a work permit.

Banyan Global currently operates on a hybrid schedule. This position may be filled at either the Program Coordinator or Senior Program Coordinator level, depending on the final candidate’s experience.

The (Senior) Program Coordinator will provide financial, administrative, and programmatic support to a fast-paced and diverse portfolio of projects.

The successful candidate will be organized, able to meet deadlines, proactive, open-minded, and eager to expand their programmatic experience in international development.

They will work closely with team members to make sure activities are running smoothly and efficiently, including supporting recruitment, procurement, financial monitoring, logistics, and contractual compliance.

Additionally, the (Senior) Program Coordinator will support quality deliverables and communications through research, editing, and formatting.

Position

The Program Coordinator / Senior Program Coordinator will provide financial, administrative, and programmatic support to fast-paced and diverse portfolios within Banyan Global’s Gender and Youth Practices.

We are looking for an organized Coordinator who is eager to expand their operational and programmatic experience in international development.

The Coordinator will work closely with team members to make sure activities are running smoothly and efficiently, including supporting recruitment, procurement, financial monitoring, logistics, and contractual compliance.

Additionally, the Coordinator will support quality deliverables and communications through research, editing, and formatting.

Responsibilities

  • Gather documents and data, and carry out background research for deliverables.
  • Support Program Managers on the technical review and copyediting of deliverables.
  • Assist with financial reporting, budget development, pipeline tracking and analysis, and budget modifications.
  • Coordinate processes for travel bookings, travel advances, expense reports, and invoices.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding. Draft agreements and mobilize employees and consultants for long- and short-term assignments.
  • Serve as the primary contact for consultants on administrative issues and contract compliance.
  • Update files and project management tools to track information such as timelines, compliance requirements, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Draft written programmatic updates for internal and external audiences.
  • Draft and update communication materials, such as webpage descriptions, success stories, email campaigns, and handouts.
  • Work with Program Managers to support the development and finalization of project deliverables including researching, editing, and formatting documents and developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Adhere to Banyan Global and USAID policies and procedures.
  • Assist with new business development initiatives.
  • Adapt to perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

This role requires the following :

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-5 years of experience in project administration, international development, or other relevant field.
  • Strong office and organizational skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team while also working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience interacting professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Fluency in English.

Ideal candidates will also have :

  • Experience in or dedication to gender equality and social inclusion within international development.
  • Knowledge of USAID policies and procedures.
  • Second / foreign language skills
  • Experience in editing content to produce easy-to-understand, grammatically correct, and consistent products.
  • A high level of comfort and flexibility with digital tools, such as Google apps, graphic design, and productivity apps.

Salary range : $57,000- $75,000. Salary commensurate with years and nature of experience
