As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview :
Under the supervision of the RN, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs various care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of a specific patient population (ANA Standards of Delegation, 2004).
The employee must be able to successfully complete job specific orientation, competencies, and meet / exceed standards as identified in the criteria based performance appraisal.
PCTs must demonstrate awareness of patients' rights in all aspects of patient care and report issues to the appropriate person.
The PCT demonstrates leadership through coordination of unit equipment and activities. Communicates to the RN pertinent findings or observations noted while providing patient care and comfort.
Assist professional staff with basic life support principles.
Unit Description :
The Resource Team is a great choice for those who desire flexibility and variety in their work schedule. Daily assignments to the different units are made based on competency, skill and experience.
Resource Team members have the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a variety of settings across Deaconess Health System.
Required : Certifications / Licenses / Education :
- Basic Life Support : Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center / unit.
- Must have a valid driver's license
