What you will do :
As the first dedicated Data Engineer you will become our team’s data expert, managing all aspects of integration, ingestion, and visualization.
Data management is paramount in delivering value for our customers to drive student success, and democratizing their student involvement data.
You’ll work closely with the customer success team to onboard customers’ data to the platform and the product team to extract insights from these data sources.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Data Integration Onboarding : Lead customer onboarding by connecting data sources and communicating effectively with customers and their IT staff.
- Data Integration Management : Manage the application's data integration surface, ensuring seamless integration with external systems, maintaining API endpoints, and handling data flow consistency across platforms.
- Reports and Dashboards Management : Create and manage reports, analytics, and dashboards to deliver actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
- Data Architecture and Infrastructure : Build and optimize data architecture, including databases and data lakes, to support analytics, machine learning, and applications.
- Data Pipeline Development : Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch data processing.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Monitor data infrastructure and pipelines, troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain data integrity and performance.
- ETL Processes : Develop and manage ETL processes to transform raw data into structured formats for analysis.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on data engineering trends and continuously improve data infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in onboarding and supporting customers with data integration tasks.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong SQL skills, including experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Proficient in working with REST APIs
Auxiliary
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI to support data presentation and reporting needs.
